Fair warning #2: A lot of pictures ahead.
After we spent the day in Boston, we made the one and a half hour drive to The Cape. Traffic was a little thick until we made it out of the city. Of course E was screaming in the back (because she was hungry – mom fail). We wanted to make it out of the city before we pulled off to feed her, and of course as soon as we did she was out.
We got in at about 8 (I think?) and ordered some pizza, and chatted a bit before heading to bed some-what early. The next day we wasted no time hitting the beach. The house we stayed in (one of our friends family’s house) was right on the beach which was awesome when you have kids. You can just pop in and out as you need to.
The weather was absolutely PERFECT while we were there. We spent pretty much the entire first day on the beach. There was some bocce, paddle ball, ladders, lounging and laughing.
Since pretty much everyone had a kiddo or two, it was a very communal parenting group. If there was a baby napping inside that woke up someone would just grab them and bring them out to us. If a baby started crying someone was there to pick them up. I would be OK if we lived like that all the time.
^^That’s E snoozin’ on our friend Barrett.
After spending a perfect day on the beach we went in and got the babies bathed, fed and ready for bed. Then the girls headed out for dinner while the boys stayed back with the babies.
Of course Tony and I had to sneak in a picture together. How could you not with that beautiful background?
We had an amazing dinner and laughed so much my cheeks hurt. We stayed out until super late (I think 12:30? – we left for dinner at 7:45) and when we finally walked back home (the restaurant was really close to the house) they boys were all
cuddled up sitting on the sectional couch together and yelled at us for being too loud. If you knew this group of boys then you would have to laugh at the irony of the situation. We sure did.
Shortly after getting home we all headed upstairs to bed. Needed to get rest for day number three!… Which I’ll recap next. I figure you can only handle so much picture overload at a time.
