The weather this weekend was absolutely GORGEOUS. We spent as much time outside as possible. On Saturday we headed to the Brookhaven Chili Cook-Off with our friends, Jenny and Vy, plus their little lady Madelyn.
Apparently the four of us like to eat, because we manage to find all of the food festivals in Atlanta. Yum.
We always try to get the festivals right when they open so we can beat the crowds. It proved to be the right move again because we walked right in. A little over an hour later the line to get in was really long and the place was packed.
We walked around and tried about 15 different chili’s while the babies slept in the Bjorns. Last year the festival wasn’t stroller friendly because the walkway was so narrow, so this year we put them in the Baby Bjorns not knowing they switched the location.
It was hot, especially with the babies attached to us. I let E finish her (hour) nap before I made Tony take over baby wearing duty. Jenny agreed that was an excellent idea.
There were probably 100 different chili makers there, but in my opinion you can only try so many chili samples before it’s too much. I wasn’t the only one from our group who felt that way either. It was so nice out that we didn’t want to leave though, so we parked ourselves in the shade and fed the babies while the boys watch the Georgia v Missouri game (both were routing against GA, BTW).
^^These two were hilarious. We’ve been trying get them to notice each other essentially since they’ve been born (they are one day apart) and they are finally starting to. Here they started to grab each others faces’, it was just too cute.
Em also has two new favorite games, “upside down baby” and “spaceship baby”.
^^ this picture reminds me that I am in dire need of some highlights and a cut. the question is, to mom chop the hair or not to mom chop the hair?
After spending a few hours at the cook-off we parted ways because Tony and I had dinner plans with our friends, Allison and Jamie. I didn’t take any pictures, but we had a great dinner and a really fun evening with them. Love them and their two little ones so much. We hadn’t see them since Boston, so it was really nice to get together!
We had a busy but fun Saturday with friends! Love these fall days that you could just spend all day outside!
